Exyte Hargreaves has been appointed to support the delivery of Keadby2 a new SSE Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Station under construction at Scunthorpe, a first-of-its-kind project.
Siemens Energy are the principle contractor delivering the power station and have appointed Extye Hargreaves to support with the delivery of mechanical and electrical / HVAC within five buildings on the site including gas, containment, BMS, heating pipework, mechanical ventilation and extensive provision of roof mounted smoke extract ventilation.
The delivery build methodology incorporates the use of Exyte Hargreaves MMC Offsite Assembly Facility to supply horizontal modules, vertical risers and a prefabricated plant room, housing the centric energy centre and heating distribution for the whole facility.
Once complete, Keadby2 Power Station will generate 840MW of reliable energy enough to power 840,000 homes.
The on-shore construction has now commenced, following an in-depth pre-construction period with the off-shore package which will culminate in commissioning and enabling these systems in Spring 2021.
